The Maxwell Horizontal Windlass typically accommodates anchor chains ranging from 10mm to 24mm in diameter, with common grades being Grade 2, Grade 3, or High-Test (Grade 30). Chain material is usually high-tensile steel with galvanized or stainless steel coatings for corrosion resistance. Buoyancy is negligible due to the density of steel. Viscosity is not applicable to chains, but lubricants used may have ISO VG 68-220 ratings. Windlass power ranges from 500W to 3000W, with pull capacities up to 3000 kg, depending on model and chain size.
